Hallowed by Cynthia Hand (Sequel to Unearthly)

Blurb:
”For months part-angel Clara Gardner trained to face the raging forest fire from her visions and rescue the alluring and mysterious Christian Prescott from the blaze. But nothing could prepare her for the fateful decisions she would be forced to make that day, or the startling revelation that her purpose—the task she was put on earth to accomplish—is not as straightforward as she thought.

Now, torn between her increasingly complicated feelings for Christian and her love for her boyfriend, Tucker, Clara struggles to make sense of what she was supposed to do the day of the fire. And, as she is drawn further into the world of part angels and the growing conflict between White Wings and Black Wings, Clara learns of the terrifying new reality that she must face: Someone close to her will die in a matter of months. With her future uncertain, the only thing Clara knows for sure is that the fire was just the beginning.”

I got this book in December, which was pretty weird as it wasn't released until January and the copyright was for 2012.
I guess Waterstones just puts books out on the shelf early..

First thing's first; love triangles annoy me.
This book was full of them.
I swear if I read one more book with a love triangle in first person...
Though I probably will be by tomorrow.

For most part of the book, I wasn't quite sure what was going to happen next, but had a bounty load of ideas. Quite a few were correct.

The book's about angels so I'm hazarding a guess that Cynthia Hand is a Christian. I might be wrong though.

The main character - Clara - really annoys me. Most protagonists do. I don't know why, but she just does. I didn't really like reading through her.

Tucker is probably one of my favourite characters by far, he is just so awesome!

Christian... Urgh almost as annoying as Clara, the boy really can't take no for an answer. I don't really think he likes Clara as much as he thinks that she is part of his purpose.

Angela, she's alright. Her temper is on a short fuse though and it doesn't take much for her to throw a total basket case. I still want to know who her secret-Italian-boyfriend is. She probably is one of the more interesting characters.

Jeremy is a poor soul. Gosh I really didn't see that one coming, I mean seriously, the poor boy. You really screwed him over Clara - if you'd just done what you were supposed to do.

A good book, quite drama filled so not exactly lighthearted. Quite an easy read, and like Unearthly (the first book in the series) it is quite a quick read despite being a fairly long book. I would reccomend it as it is pretty enjoyable.

I'd give give Hallowed a three and a half stars out of five... I still don't know what 'hallowed' means though.
